Bonusly Pricing in 2026: What It Really Costs per Employee

Bonusly pricing compared with an experience-based recognition programme

Bonusly pricing is simple on the surface and easy to misjudge in a budget. The subscription is a few dollars per employee per month. The rewards your people redeem are paid on top, at face value, and that second number is usually the larger one. This guide sets out what Bonusly publishes on its own pricing page, what the third-party listings get wrong, and how to turn the plan price into a real annual figure before you sign.

It is written from Mojo Gift's side, so treat it as informed rather than neutral. Where Bonusly's model is the better fit, it says so.

Bonusly plans and prices

Figures below come from bonusly.com/pricing, checked on 13 October 2026. Bonusly states they apply to new customers; existing customers are told to contact their customer success manager.

Plan

Price

What it is for

Free

$0, up to 8 users

Peer recognition, Slack and Teams integrations, mobile apps. A trial-sized team.

Team

$3 per user per month, or $30 per user per year on annual billing

The core paid plan: recognition feed, milestone celebrations, HRIS provisioning, analytics, 24/7 chat support.

Team + Bizy

$5 per user per month, or $50 per user per year

Team plus Bizy, Bonusly's AI assistant layer: smart 1:1 agendas, performance recaps, automated manager alerts.

Organization + Bizy

Custom quote

Everything in Team plus company announcements, awards and incentives, company-wide analytics, recognition quality reporting, SAML SSO, a dedicated CSM and onboarding help.

Bizy add-on

$2 per user per month

Can be switched on for selected users rather than everyone.

Three things the page says that matter for a budget:

  • Billing is annual by default. The FAQ states all plans are billed annually, although the page also shows a monthly toggle. Ask which applies to your contract.

  • There is a 30-day trial of Team or Organization with no payment details required.

  • Integrations carry no extra charge and Bonusly says there are no hidden fees in the subscription itself.

What the subscription does not include

The subscription buys the platform. It does not buy the rewards. When an employee redeems 1,000 points for a $10 gift card, Bonusly bills you $10. Bonusly is clear and fair about this: rewards are charged at face value, you never pay for unused funds, and reward spend is kept separate from the licence so there is no large upfront payment.

The consequence is that the reward budget, not the seat price, decides what Bonusly costs. The amount you let each employee give per month is the real pricing decision.

A worked example: 100 employees

Assume 100 employees on the Team plan, annual billing, and a reward allowance of $20 per employee per month, which is a common starting point for a peer-to-peer programme.

Line

Annual cost

Team subscription, $30 per user per year

$3,000

Reward allowance, $20 per employee per month, fully redeemed

$24,000

Total

$27,000

Add Bizy for everyone, $50 instead of $30 per user

$29,000

If only half the points get redeemed, the reward line halves and the total drops to roughly $15,000. That is the swing to plan for: Bonusly's cost tracks how enthusiastically people use it, which is exactly what you want from a daily recognition tool and exactly what makes it hard to forecast.

Why third-party pricing sites disagree

Search for Bonusly pricing and you will find Core and Pro tiers at $3 and $5, Engage and Achieve tiers at $2.50 to $7, a Team plan at $2.70 billed yearly, and at least one site saying pricing is quote-only. These are not all wrong; they are snapshots of different years. Bonusly has renamed its tiers more than once and the aggregators update on their own schedules.

Use the official page for the number and the aggregators only for history. If a listing quotes a price with a tier name that is not Free, Team, Team + Bizy or Organization, it is out of date.

Per seat or per moment: which model fits your recognition

Bonusly prices per seat because it is built for everyday peer-to-peer recognition. Every employee gets points every month, so every employee is a user, and a per-user price is the honest way to charge for that. If your goal is a constant flow of small, visible thank-yous between colleagues, and you have the People Ops capacity to keep adoption up, the per-seat model fits and Bonusly is a strong choice.

Milestone recognition works differently. A five-year anniversary, a new starter's first week, a retirement or a standout quarter happen to a few people at a time, a few times a year. Paying for 100 seats twelve months a year to recognise 150 moments is paying for capacity you do not use.

That is why Mojo Gift prices by Moment instead. A Mojo Moment is one funded reward, given to one employee, for one recognition occasion, at $25 per Moment per year from a 50-Moment minimum. The gift itself is funded separately at face value, as with Bonusly, and the recipient chooses an experience from a local catalogue in 190 countries with nothing expiring and no price shown. For the same 100-person company recognising two moments per employee a year, the platform cost is 200 Moments, or $5,000, with no per-seat licence, and the concierge team runs delivery so there is no adoption curve to manage. The full breakdown is on the pricing page.

Many teams run both: Bonusly for the daily peer layer, Mojo Gift for the moments that need to feel considered. The Mojo Gift vs Bonusly comparison goes through that split in detail.

Questions to ask before you sign

  1. Is the quoted price per month or per year, and is annual billing mandatory?

  2. Do we need Bizy for everyone, for managers only, or not yet?

  3. What does the reward catalogue look like outside the United States, and are international gift cards charged at face value in local currency?

  4. Do unredeemed points expire, and what happens to the balance when an employee leaves?

  5. Is there a minimum contract term or seat count on the Organization plan?

  6. What is the typical redemption rate at companies our size, so we can forecast the reward line?

The short version

Bonusly costs $3 to $5 per employee per month for the platform, plus whatever your people redeem. Budget the rewards first, the licence second. If recognition at your company is daily and peer-driven, that model is right. If it is milestone-driven, a per-moment programme such as the Mojo Moment Programme usually costs less and is far easier to forecast.
